Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn has been an actress for over 20 years. She is best known for her character Skyler White on The AMC show Breaking Bad for which she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting actress in the Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. She has also appeared as Martha Bullock in Deadwood and Jean Ward on The Practice. Born in Sante Fe, New Mexico in the year 1968, Anna Gunn fell in love with acting during Preparatory School, before her family moved to Ohio in the late 1970's. Anna attended the British American Drama Academy and studied theatre in the theatre department at Northwestern University. Anna was employed in the Chicago theatre for several years, before trying out for film and TV parts. Anna's first major part was Arden as she appeared in Down the Shore. She was in 29 episodes. After appearing as a Guest Actor in a variety of TV Shows and Films, including Seinfeld and NYPD Blue in the 1990's, she was chosen to play Jean Ward as part of The Practice. Martha Bullock was her role in Deadwood for two seasons. Skyler was the character she played as Martha Bullock in Breaking Bad. Sully in addition to Deadwood was another movie she was a part of. Gunn is also a part of the stage in David Schwimmer's production Sex With Strangers. Gunn also played a part in the show Numbered Day, which is a podcast consisting of four audio-based plays. The romance between Walter White and his wife Skyler is usually the main focus of the plot in Breaking Bad with the strained tension in their relationship, and the eventual end of their relationship mirroring the same arc of Walter White's last years of his life.
